Intro- As always I'll start with a brief history lesson. Today's watch is by the well-known brand, Citizen, and today I have one of their divers, The Endeavour. Eco-Drive is a light-powered technology that drives watches by capturing light and converting it into energy using an inbuilt solar cell.

Welcome to Another Review, As always I'll start with a brief history lesson. So pens at the ready, I'll begin , now unless you have been living under a rock for the last 100 years you would have heard of Citizen Watches. They were originally registered as a brand, back in 1918 by Rodolphe Schmid in Switzerland, for watches he...

As always I'll start with a brief history lesson, so pens at the ready. I'll begin, Archimede is a line of watches launched in Germany in 2003, By the Ickler family who has been in the industry since 1924. Originally founded by the head of the family Karl Ickler, the business was taken over by his two sons in 1947 after it had lain dormant during the war. These days, Ickler manufactures premier quality watches and watchcases, made to the highest quality standards, for a demanding international clientele - all made in Germany. All under the watchful of Thomas Ickler , a third-generation member of the family.

So let's get into it, Today I present to you Archimede's Pilot 42 Bronze. Starting as always with the case, Now Ickler manufactures all its watch cases in their German-based plant, so you rest assured nothing gets passed QC unless it is perfection. And well it is, The 42mm brushed Bronze case screams quality craftsmanship, with a lug to lug of 50mm and a thickness of just 9.5mm, the Pilot wears smaller than its 42mm. This is further empathized by the watches' downturned lugs which simply curve around your wrist with minimum effort but maximum effectiveness. Moving around to the rear of the watch, you are greeted with the watch's movement, with its laser engraved Archimede rotor, further showing that this really is a quality piece. You can view the watch working its magic, through the  Sapphire Crystal screw-down case back, which provides 100m of water resistance. Finishing off the case you have a laser engraved crown, which really adds an extra touch of class to the Pilot 42.

Moving on to the dial, here you have 36mm of pure perfection, featuring a Sapphire Crystal with built-in Ar Coating, a matte black dial with contrasting white lume coated numerals, along with a date window at 6 o clock that blends in seamlessly to the dial. But without a doubt, the star of the show has to be the watch's in-house lume coated, heat blue stainless steel hour and minute hands,  which is done by heating the steel to a temperature of 575 degrees Fahrenheit.  The Pilot42 also comes with the added benefit of having a GMT function, which can be used by simply pulling out the watch's crown to the first click and turning the red GMT hand counterclockwise to set your second-time zone.

Next, we move on to the watch's movement, which enables the Pilot's 42 hands to sweep effortlessly without ever skipping a beat. The movement used is a Swiss Automatic movement, the Soprod c125 which along with its 42hours of power reserve, provides 28,800 BPH, which works out at 8 beats per second, providing maximum accuracy. Along with the very welcome addition of hacking, which In a nutshell, is when you have the ability to set a watch's second hand as well as the hour and minute hands. Last but by no means least we move the Pilot's black leather strap with rivet movement, which along with the copper-engraved buckle provides the icing on the cake to a truly beautifully constructed timepiece.

The Pilot is a spectacular watch, with a retail price of 1300 euros it's not cheap, but once you see and feel it, you'll understand it's worth every cent. With a warranty of 2 years and exceptional customer service. Archimede has created a truly exceptional piece, with the look and feel of a watch worth ten times the 1300 retail price. Check it out here along with their other collections. As always thanks for reading.
